Reflexology for you
Weave a new strand into your wellbeing
About reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic therapy – which means it benefits the whole of a person, on different levels – body, mind, spirit, emotions. It is based on the theory that there is a correspondence between parts of the feet (or hands, face, or ears, too!) and every other part of the body. By stimulating these reflex areas, the intention is to communicate with that part of the body, and trigger its return to a balanced state.
A reflexologist uses their hands to work on the feet, pressing on different places in different ways, to balance the reflexes.
At your first reflexology session
We talk about why you would like reflexology. I check your medical history with you, and ask you a little bit about your lifestyle.
After this, you take off your shoes and socks. You relax back into my Lafuma reclining chair, and I start work on your feet.
I use creams or balms on the feet as I work, and I’ll check with you, which you prefer. Some people like to relax under a blanket, too.
I begin and end each session with a foot massage. During the reflexology work I will check in with you, how the pressure feels on your feet, and adjust it to your needs.
The first session gives me a feel for your feet, and what they are telling me about areas that would most like to be rebalanced.
In preparation for follow-on sessions, I will write a treatment plan for you, that takes account of your priorities and objectives.
I had my first ever Reflexology experience with Mel recently and it blew my mind!!
I never before understood the relationship our feet have with all areas of our body, and it was very clear from the start that Mel is truly gifted in her skill and practice.
How someone can, from just your feet, work through tension and emotion throughout your body, is a totally magic experience and Mel made me feel comfortable, relaxed and safe to fully lean in to the process. And I am very self conscious about my feet! Bravo Mel!
Your reflexology options
A short taster session
£20
You might choose this 30 minute ‘try it and see’ session, if you haven’t had reflexology before, and you want to check it out.
To work well with any holistic therapist, it helps if you are comfortable with them, and the therapy. I understand this, and I want you to have the best chance to decide, if you are not sure.
Your first full treatment
£50
We allow an hour and a half. The first 30 minutes, for me to note down medical and lifestyle information that will allow me to tailor your treatment to your priorities. After this you have one hour of relaxing reflexology.
If you decide to book further sessions, I will use the information gathered today to create a personalised treatment plan for you.
Follow-on treatments – single treatment
£40
You can have follow-on treatments as often as you like. We will discuss what is suitable for your objectives, at your first session. Reflexology once per week is usually a good beginning. After this, many people like to visit every few weeks, to support ongoing wellness.
Limbic reflexology
Limbic reflexology may be suitable for you if you have had stress-related symptoms for many years. It may help with sleep, energy levels, mental wellbeing and motivation. This is not for everyone – ask me, if you think this may be for you.
In many cases, limbic reflexology is advisable 1-2 times per week for the first 7-8 sessions. It’s best to book a taster session before taking on the limbic work, and if after that you decide to book in a series of treatments, I will refund your taster session.
Book in!
Contact me to discuss your options, and book an appointment, if that is what feels right for you. I’m happy to schedule in a 15 minute call to listen and share whether I think reflexology will be a good fit for you.
